Sent to you

That email message, on your website

Some of the best testimonials a business has were never public. They can be — with the one step that makes it honest.

How

  1. Ask the person, in writing

The line in a reply that said the thing you wish your home page said. Paste it with the sender's name. It was written to you, not to the world, so the request comes first — one line is enough, and the answer is almost always yes.

  2. Add it with the source set to “Email”

The words as they were written, the person's name, and a screengrab if you have one. The source is shown beside it on every page it appears on afterwards.

  3. Record what they said back

Their reply is the permission. Keep it — the consent field travels with the testimonial and comes out in your export.

  4. Publish it wherever it belongs

In a widget, on a wall, as an image for a post. Where they allowed it, and nowhere else.

Also private. A one-line request — “may I put this on our site?” — is all it takes, and the answer is almost always yes.

What will not happen to it

The same list is on every page of this site.

  • The words will not be edited. Not tidied, not shortened, not improved — by you, by us, or by a model.
  • The source will not be dropped: every published copy says it came from Email.
  • It will not be shown anywhere its permission does not cover.
  • It will not be fetched for you automatically — you are the one who decides it may be republished.

Bring your Email reviews across

With the source attached, read for risk, and published only where their permission reaches.
